  2. Group 6; School as Inquiry.
Students need have a say in what they learn. If they are told what to learn they will find it boring and will not have interest in the topic. The 4th grader that was used as an example wanted to learn about frogs and they helped him out by taking him to the library. The student not only learned about frogs but it was a topic he chose. Not only should students be told what to learn but they should have a say in what they should learn sometimes.

    - ASK QUESTIONS
    -INVESTIGATE QUESTIONS
    -CREATE SOMETHING
    -SHARE WHAT YOU CREATED
    -REFLECT ON YOUR INQUIRY
    -POSSIBLY ACT ON YOUR INQUIRY

  4. Group 1: Schools aren't being successful due to students not being interested in learning the subject. teachers never break out of there simple based, generic ways of teaching. They forced the student to learn the way the teachers wanted them to learn and not truly understand the students focus on what was in their imagination. They pasted the tests and the classes but they have no passion, they have no wonder about life outside of what they were taught in school. in return they hate reading because of how often they were forced to read they have no intellectual curiosity, there going to go on and fill there normal day with work and the stress to just pass because that's all they were taught in school, is to pass not learn, pass.

  5. Group 5:Commonalities of inquiry include, Authenticity: all learning is real and serves for real purposes. The work space: a space that is for open investigations like workshops or laboratories. Asking questions: inquiry unit will be framed by one or more questions. Investigations: investigate the question. Real-World Resources: Real world or text? Dialogue and Discussion: inquiry is nurtured by good talk. Creating: The act of creating is vital. Agency: nurturing agency in children involves honoring the construction knowledge. Discovery: now in moderate times children lack playfulness meaning that it leads to no discovery. Joy and skills: kids do not enjoy there time in school which is why they tend to not listen or skip class. there are skills and tools of inquiry which are analyzing data, developing observation skills as well as interviewing and surveying.

  6. Although hands on learning is more productive than a lecture. It is not the same as inquiry. Essential part of inquiry is engaging in discussion and debate would not be seen as "hands on".
Inquiry is not where students can learn whatever they want; its not a "free for all" but where they can collaborate, investigate and deeply intellectual.
Inquiry doesn't always mean that teachers never lecture but they can give the students a chance to discuss their own questions and ideas and make some of the decisions regarding their learning.
The process to inquiry requires the teacher to find the just right equilibrium between control and curricular objectives and students interest.
